Christmas & New Year’s Breaks in the Lakes
Christmas in the Lake District is a magical time of year. The streets of Ambleside are illuminated with Christmas Lights and the aroma of coal fires fill the air.
Come and enjoy all that the beautiful Lake District has to offer over the yuletide period, and let us help to make a Christmas to remember! Our team will be on hand to offer you all that you need for an indulgent stay.
A warm welcome will be offered on your arrival with a glass of mulled wine and delicious mince pies.
3 night break
24th – 27th December
Let the Christmas festivities begin with canapes by the open fires in one of our lounges before you dine on a delectable Tasting Menu. For those who wish to enjoy midnight mass at the local church, mulled wine and mince pies will be available on your return.
Christmas day begins with a Bucks Fizz breakfast and then the time to enjoy the delights of Ambleside or perhaps a leisurely stroll to build up an appetite. A traditional Christmas lunch will be served with Turkey and all the trimmings.
After lunch enjoy our Rothay Manor cinema, with ice cream and popcorn (if you can squeeze it in!). Boxing Day dawns with a Cumbrian breakfast. Feel free to spend your time at leisure and use one of our complimentary tickets to a local attraction. In the evening an A La Carte dinner will be served.
3 night break: 24th – 27th December
from £1050 per person
Feel free to extend your stay by nights either side of the above package on either a B&B or Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.
A £250 non-refundable deposit is due at time of booking. If cancelled after 1st December a 50% cancellation fee will apply. We strongly advise you take our travel insurance in case of cancellations.

Over-indulged over the Christmas period? Need a break from the in-laws? Why not book a relaxing 3 night break at Rothay Manor to enjoy some time to yourselves after Christmas? Step into a welcoming retreat, with coal-fires and comfortable lounges. Recharge the senses with brisk walks in the winter wonderland that is the Lake District, then return to your spacious bedroom and perhaps sink into a luxurious bubble bath.
Your 3 night stay will include breakfast, mulled wine and mince pies on arrival, and a £50pp allocation towards dinner each evening.

New Year Celebrations
in the Lake District
from 30th December – 2nd January
Welcome in the New Year in style here at Rothay Manor! Enjoy a decadent few nights away with fabulous food from our 3 Rosette fine dining restaurant.
Your New Year break begins on 30th December with mulled wine and mince pies on arrival, before dining from our wonderful a la carte menu. On the 31st let our house party begin with a Champagne reception, and enjoy live music, followed by an indulgent tasting menu! The New Year will be celebrated with a firework extravaganza on our lawn.
New Year’s day will begin with a leisurely breakfast (or should we call it brunch) and a day at leisure. We will open up the Rothay Manor cinema for some classic movies in the afternoon, and provide the popcorn and ice-cream of course! In the evening enjoy the culinary delights of our a la carte menu.
3 night break from 30th December – 2nd January
